The Birthwise facility is located in the beautiful lakes region of southwestern Maine, one hour west of Portland and 1/2 hour east of North Conway and the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  Our facility is an historic brick colonial house consisting of classroom areas, offices, a library, and a kitchen. An attached wing contains a free-standing birhing center, The Birth House, operated by local CPM's.  Bridgton is a small New England village that has much to offer the outdoor enthusiast and other advantages of small town life.

The town's summer population swells, providing many residents with jobs. The major employers are the schools, hospital, restaurants and shops, the Shawnee Peak ski resort, and a few manufacturing operations in town. In the past, Birthwise students have found jobs in and around Bridgton from landscaping, office, and restaurant work to housecleaning. 

Although it is a small town, Bridgton has many amenities including a movie theater, a beach on Highland Lake, a weekly newspaper, a health food store, a good bookstore, a hospital, a library, and some good eating spots - all within walking distance of Birthwise.
